Thailand has promised to step up services to help private firms increase their competitiveness and cost-effectiveness. Deputy Prime Minister, Somkid Jatu-sri-pi-tak made the announcement during a Federation of Industries Conference on June 24.
He said a scheme of Public-Private partnerships would soon be built. It will mainly focus on orchestrated efforts to improve human resources, as well as managerial and manufacturing technologies. The scheme will offer training for product groups. The two-day conference has drawn executives from the country's leading companies, business councils and banks. The government is also preparing to set up a working group to help promote small and medium-sized enterprises. They're seen as the most crucial part of the country's economy. |
